Our Individual Therapy Approach
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a well-established, evidence-based therapy that focuses on understanding and improving meaningful behaviors. Historically used to support individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ABA helps build important life skills—such as communication, social interaction, and daily living—by breaking them down into manageable steps and reinforcing progress over time.
At LCA, we are proud to offer trauma-informed ABA therapy, recognizing that every child brings their own experiences, emotions, and needs to the table. Our approach prioritizes connection, trust, and emotional safety. We aim to create an environment where children feel seen, supported, and empowered—not just compliant. We believe that meaningful learning happens when a child feels safe, respected, and understood.
LCA provides Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services primarily in our clinic setting, with in-home sessions available for targeted skill development when appropriate.
We recommend that all new clients begin with at least six months of in-clinic services. This allows Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) to build rapport with the client and establish strong stimulus control in a structured environment. Once meaningful progress has been made, the clinical team may recommend transitioning to in-home sessions. These sessions focus on generalizing skills learned in the clinic to the home setting and promoting increased independence in daily living activities.
Please note: In some cases, a transition to in-home services may be initiated sooner if a crisis protocol is implemented. All decisions regarding service transitions are made by the client’s Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in collaboration with the clinical team.
Regardless of the setting, we pride ourselves on delivering the highest quality care by ensuring our team is extensively trained and continuously supported. Our BCBAs are committed to designing programs that emphasize generalization and long-term maintenance, ensuring that skills are not just learned—but truly lived.
Our RBTs are trained to implement programs with high fidelity, using best practices that are responsive to each child’s progress and personality. Because the field of behavior analysis is ever-evolving, our team stays informed and current—so your child receives the most effective and compassionate care possible.
At LCA, our mission is to support your child and your family with excellence, empathy, and expertise.
