Our Group Therapy Approach:
At LCA, our Social Skills Groups are designed to help children build confidence, develop meaningful peer relationships, and strengthen their ability to navigate social situations with greater independence.
We currently offer two weekly groups: one for children ages 8–10 and another for ages 10–13.
Each group is led by a Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA) and closely supervised by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Using evidence-based principles and interventions derived from Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), we create a supportive, structured, and engaging environment where children can learn and practice essential social skills in real time.
We use a variety of social skills assessments to guide goal-setting and lesson planning, ensuring that each child’s individual needs and strengths are addressed. Every six weeks, the Social Skills Lead and BCBA meet with families to review progress, discuss upcoming lessons, and collaborate on individualized goals.
The ultimate goal of our Social Skills Groups is to promote social inclusion, independence, and quality of life. By helping participants build friendships, thrive in group settings, and feel more confident in social interactions, we support their long-term success in both school and life.
